In the 1980s, Swiss ceramic artist Evelyn Porret founded a pottery school in Tunis, introducing the village children to the craft of clay. Her graduates became the village's master potters, shaping a distinctly Tunisian aesthetic: hand-formed pieces adorned with primitive motifs drawn from the local flora and fauna. Each piece is shaped from clay sourced along the Nile banks of Aswan, then hand-glazed and painted by hand — no two are identical.

The Blue Daisy Small Ceramic Plate features a hand-painted floral motif in soft green, deep blue, and white tones, with the daisy's characteristic precision softened by the hand that painted it.
